FAQ

Where will the photo shoot take place?

I shoot all natural light and prefer to shoot at the client’s home (children particularly seem the most comfortable there) or at a local park or favorite location.

What if it rains?

If it rains or is drizzling/misty, we will reschedule.

What time of day is best?

I love shooting in the early morning or late afternoon. If children are going to be part of the shoot, it’s best to plan timing based on their schedule. Please take into account naps, mood when tired, lunch, etc. when making your appointment.

What’s in your bag?

I’m a Canon girl, so all of the following are Canon:
5DM3
5DM2
24-105mm
70-200mm
50mm
85mm
17-40mm
580EXII

When will we see the pictures?

Between 2 and 3 weeks after the session, you’ll receive an email with a link to your private proofing gallery.  This gallery will remain active for 3 weeks. After the initial 3 weeks, I’ll be happy to extend it 1 more week, but there will be a $25 reposting charge after that.

Can you switch heads, make me look thinner, touch up acne?

I can do some photoshop work in addition to light editing, but there is a fee that we will discuss and agree upon before major touch ups are done.

Do you photograph weddings?

I do a small number of weddings each year – please send me a message if you’d like more information.

When should I book a maternity session?

Any time after your belly is noticeable is a good time for a session. I, however, prefer to have the session between 28 and 32 weeks. I find that this is the ideal period for these types of sessions, and when mothers-to-be are absolutely glowing.

When should I book a newborn session?

Right now! If you are pregnant and know that you want a newborn photo session, please schedule your session as soon as you can. Although I make every effort to fit in last minute newborn session requests, my schedule fills quickly and once it is full, it can sometimes be difficult to do so. Once you are on the schedule, you will be given priority for session scheduling when your baby arrives. I prefer to have this session done in the first 10 days after the baby is born. This is a period in which I can really achieve some beautiful portraits of your newborn. This is the age when babies are most sleepy and their reflexes haven’t kicked in yet. Please make sure the baby is fed 15 mins before your session and feel free to feed the baby at the session as well.

Do you pose your clients?

Yes & no. During the time that I’m with you, I like to do a combination of posed pictures and more playful, fun pictures. I like to encourage interaction among the family to bring out the silly, playful side which makes for fun, natural photos.

Are you willing to travel?
